Chapora Fort | DIL CHAHTA HAI”

BY ASHAR KHAN – FEBRUARY 24

Chapora Fort

Chapora Fort – I felt relaxed as I reached the upland. It was a small hill located above the shore. I had literally struggled through wild and rocky pathway and almost broke my camera and my ankle to reach there. But anyways it took sometime to reach the outskirts of a ruined old building which known as Chapora fort.

Indeed, this was an enormous fort built in that remote area. It had peculiar burnt brown colour walls and stairs in the middle. That vintage feel of the fort made me curious to explore further. So, I climbed up.

The Fort’s stairs led me to the main entrance from where I could see the whole courtyard. The most amazing sight was the panoramic view of the skyline of Arabian sea and the vast coastline of Goa above these walls. The picturesque skyline above it was giving an amazing background for the clicking photos. Some people were already taking selfies there. This experience was really amazing.”

This photo was taken at the Chapora Fort in Goa that is best known as the fort in movie Dil Chahta Hai, where the actors gazed into the seemingly unending Arabian sea and talked about life. It is located near Vagator beach in North Goa. People who wants to feel the real Goan aura must visit this place. It is famous for its tranquil sunsets.
